SpicyIP Events: ARCIALA’s IPScholars Asia Conference

ARCIALAWe are happy to announce that The Advanced Research Centre for Intellectual Assets and the Law in Asia (ARCIALA), School of Law, Singapore Management University has put out a call for papers for its 2nd Works-in-Progress Conference “IPScholars Asia” on February 23-24, 2017. An excerpt from the call is reproduced below:

Call for Papers and Paper Submissions

Scholars who are interested in presenting their works-in-progress at the Second Works-in-Progress Conference “IPScholars Asia” can submit the request to present at this time. ARCIALA welcomes senior and junior academics to be part of the 2017 edition of the Conference.

Interested scholars should submit their request to present by emailing their contact information including their academic affiliation, a short bio, and a title and short abstract of their work-in-progress (500 words or less) as a Word or PDF attachment to ARCIALA at the following email address: [email protected] (please indicate “IPScholars Asia 2017” in the email subject line).

In addition to scholars who are interested in presenting, ARCIALA also welcomes non-presenting attendees on a space-available basis. Please email your request to attend the Second Works-in-Progress Conference “IPScholars Asia” without presenting to ARCIALA at the following email address: [email protected].

Conference Schedule (subject to possible minor changes)        

The Conference will start on Thursday 23 February 2017 at 9 a.m. and continue until 6.30 p.m. (inclusive of tea and lunch breaks). A casual dinner will follow at the conclusion of the first day.

The Conference will resume on Friday 24 February 2017 at 9 a.m. and continue until 6.30 p.m. (inclusive of tea and lunch breaks).  Thereafter there will be a casual farewell dinner for those who have time to attend.

Deadlines

The priority deadline for submitting a request to present a work-in-progress is 15 October 2016. The final deadline to submit requests to present is 30 October 2016. After this date, late applicants will be placed on a waiting list and presentation slots will be offered only if available (or become available).

The centre will send notifications of acceptance to applicants by 30 November 2016.

The schedule of the Conference will be available by 10 January 2017.
