Exactly one month ago, Superstar Rajinikanth had successfully obtained an order granting stay of a film titled ‘Main Hoon Rajinikanth’; Rajinikanth had alleged that the producer of the film had not sought the actor’s permission before using his name in the title of the film. According to a letter written by Christopher Jon Springman (Professor, NYU School of Law representing Carl Malamud) to Peter M. SpicyIP Tidbit: International Open Access Week from 20th to 26th October, 2014

The International Open Access Week, now in its 7th year, would be celebrated from 20th to 26th October this year. Open Access in its traditional sense referred to ‘unrestricted online access to peer-reviewed scholarly research’ in the context of publishing but the term ‘open access’ is steadily being applied to other related concepts such as ‘open education’.   The Union Cabinet recently approved of the signing of a Joint Declaration of Intent between Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) & United States wherein the US universities would be invited to offer online courses with certification in various disciplines on SWAYAM (Student Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds).
