Exactly one month ago, Superstar Rajinikanth had successfully obtained an order granting stay of a film titled ‘Main Hoon Rajinikanth’; Rajinikanth had alleged that the producer of the film had not sought the actor’s permission before using his name in the title of the film. The International Open Access Week, now in its 7th year, would be celebrated from 20th to 26th October this year. Open Access in its traditional sense referred to ‘unrestricted online access to peer-reviewed scholarly research’ in the context of publishing but the term ‘open access’ is steadily being applied to other related concepts such as ‘open education’.
