Seminars and Workshops in lieu of the National IPR Campaign being conducted by the CGPDTM and DIPP in association with FICCI

In furtherance of the aim of the National IPR Campaign to create larger public awareness of IPR, starting from December 23, 2008, there are a series of seminars and workshops being conducted by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM) and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) across eight major Indian cities. The issues covered in these seminars vary from a lecture on the basics of IPR to the use of IPR in business strategy and an IP Clinic workshop. Moreover, the seminars are being conducted by experts in the area of IPR, commerce and law.



The details of the lectures and workshop are as follows:

GENERAL PROGRAMME STRUCTURE: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME



Dates: Jaipur (23rd December 2008), Kanpur (22nd January 2009), Ludhiana (5th February 2009), Delhi (19th February 2009), Ranchi (6th March 2009), Surat (13th March 2009),


Bhopal (20th March 2009), Agra (27th March 2009).



Mode of Delivery: Few presentations in regional language, Videos, exercises and music.



Session 1:


This session will be a general introduction of IPRs with special focus on their respective role in Indian Economy and growth.

SPEAKERS: Representatives from FICCI and Indian Patent Office



Session 2:


The session will focus on Commercialization of IPRs, Business reorientation, integrating IP Strategy with Business Strategy, Industry specific IP business models, specific case studies and case laws.

SPEAKERS: Eminent Speakers from leading law firms of India, renowned Institutes, Multi-national Companies, Industrial Giants and many more.



Session 3:


This session has been specially designed to address the IP related issues on one-on-one counseling in form of IP Clinic. The participants are invited to take advice from officials of Indian Patent Office regarding the issues they face while prosecuting their applications. Quiz contest.

Certification:

Indian Patent Office, DIPP and FICCI will jointly issue Certificates to the participants on successful completion of programme. The Certificates will be distributed by The Controller General of Patents, Trademarks and Design, Indian Patent Office.
