ILS Law College, Pune has released the problem for the 11th installment of its Prof. S. P. Sathe National Moot Court Competition (Moot). The Moot is slated to be held between 23rd and 25th September 2016. This year’s Moot Problem deals with a few novel and thought-provoking principles in the field of intellectual property law.

Remembering Professor Dr. S. P. Sathe
This Moot is conducted by ILS Pune on an annual basis in memory of Prof. Dr. Satyaranjan Purushottam Sathe; a legendary jurist and erstwhile principal of ILS Law College, Pune. He occupied the position of Vice-President in the People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) and that of President in the Maharashtra PUCL. Professor S. P. Sathe was, and remains, an authority on constitutional law and administrative law in India. He also contributed extensively to the field of legal education.
In particular, his book titled ‘Judicial Activism in India: Transgressing Borders and Enforcing Limits’ received a favorable response from the international legal fraternity. Other works authored by him include a book each on administrative law and the right to information and 100+ articles which were published by national and international legal periodicals, magazines and journals. Known for his humility, Professor Sathe endeared himself to his colleagues and students alike. His commitment to public rights and liberty was deep and abiding.
