About the Forum
“With a swathe of IP developments on the horizon, influenced in no small part by the UK’s decision to leave the European Union, IP experts will inevitably face numerous challenges and changes in the coming months. The seventh annual MIP International Patent Forum 2017 will be navigating the implications of Brexit on the Unified Patent Court, giving some clarity on how other jurisdictions in Europe will be affected by this momentous change.
It will also examine recent EU regulations relating to the Nagoya Protocol in the UK and strategies to protect your IP in the Internet of Things space. The continued uncertainty of patentable subject eligibility will be analysed, alongside significant legal developments including trade secret protection, second medical use patents and latest case updates on Frand. This forum will provide answers to unanswered questions that may have arisen from the uncertain legal landscape over the past 12 months.
The programme addresses the major issues at hand and will encourage participation and debate on all of the pertinent topics and technical matters from the varied perspectives of a wide range of stakeholders. In addition, MIP brings to the agenda its global expertise so as to offer multinational corporations cuttingedge guidance on handling IP portfolios in a globalised world. The MIP International Patent Forum 2017 brings together world leaders in corporations, industry associations and leading legal experts to discuss and impart valuable knowledge.”
