Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing a Seminar on “Proposed Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) and TRIPS: Issues and Implications” on 28 May, 2010 at FICCI,New Delhi. As we are all aware, the European Union (EU) has recently released a consolidated Draft text of the proposed Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA).
A preliminary examination of the Draft reveals that the text contains a number of TRIPS-plus provisions which could have far-reaching implications for India. It appears that if the ACTA takes effect, this might come into conflict with several TRIPS provisions and thus may have significant impact on protection of IPRs in India.
The objective of the Seminar is to discuss on various important aspects of the proposed ACTA, their possible implications for the TRIPS Agreement, and the impact on India.
Kindly confirm your participation (along with complete contact details) via return mail to [email protected] or at [email protected].
