At India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

AIPLA (American Intellectual Property Law Association) represents a wide and diverse spectrum of individuals from law firms, companies and institutions involved directly or indirectly in the practice of intellectual property as well as other related fields. The Women in IP is a committee of AIPLA which strives to be a leader in the awareness and understanding of women’s issues in IP and committed to create a community of empowered, connected members that support and celebrate one another. The committee runs Women in Intellectual Property Networking Event around the globe to provide an opportune and efficient means for women to build camaraderie with other women practising IP at local and global levels. In India, LexOrbis hosted the event for the first time in 2014 and the second edition of the event is once again coming up on June 5, 2017.

The event aims to bring together, women from all over the country who are involved with IP laws and/or regularly face IP issues in the ordinary course of business, to address women’s issues in IP and to facilitate the participants’ professional development. It is a step in the direction to strengthen the alliance between the women IP professionals in India and providing them a networking opportunity to share their experiences on IP related aspects as well as other issues related to professional life and also to promote social skills.
