For all of you who are looking for a free, fast and comprehensive legal research tool to supplement your analysis, here is a good news.

LawKhoj.com  is an innovative initiative of Arjun Sheoran an undergraduate student  at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and Rahul Sarin, a Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate at Chandigarh Engineering College, Mohali, Punjab. Most of the content indexed is freely accessible (though JSTOR and Springerlink has also been indexed for law school students, with an option of searching only through them or without them). SpicyIP has also been indexed.
The database is a result of the stupendous response received by Mr.Sheoran for his blog, legalresearchindia.blogspot.com. In the words of Mr.Sheoran:

The biggest benefit of shifting to Law Khoj is that the website loads very quickly and you’ll enjoy a simple and clutter free interface. We have also added a number of new websites/blogs in the search index and have provided facility of labelling/categorisation. Thus, all websites have been categorised and labelled according to the kind of content they make available. Therefore, you can choose to search only sites of Central Government ministries, or look through blogs/judgments/legislation  only or even search only through freely available or paid content.”

You can find out more about the lawkhoj.com in the About page. There is also a page about How Law Khoj Works and  How To Make Your Searches More Relevant which gives ways of getting the most relevant results.

We at SpicyIP wish all the best to Mr.Sheoran and Mr.Sarin and earnestly hope that their efforts contribute towards enhancing transparency in the Indian legal regime.

  1. Thanks for this list of best punjab engg colleges. Nice post. But i think you have forgotten to add Gurukul Vidyapeeth into this list. Gurukul Vidyapeeth is dedicated to impart to its students not only professionalism but also high level of moral and social values.
