Reminder: Call for Applications for SpicyIP’s New IP Case Law Team

spicyip-wants-you-300x300As announced last week, SpicyIP is forming a new IP case law team to provide quick summaries of recent IP cases and is inviting applications from law students and lawyers for the same. The deadline for applications is October 31, 2016.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a total of 3-4 law students/lawyers who can prepare quick summaries of about 3-4 IP orders/judgments each per week for a minimum period of six months. Please note that the process for selection will be a fairly rigorous one, as we are keen to only bring on board those who are very proficient in legal research and writing.

Stipend & Certificates                                   

The selected candidates will be paid a stipend for each such case summary prepared by them. They will also be awarded a certificate upon completion of at least six months as part of the team.

How to apply?

Interested candidates are required to send the following to “[email protected]” with “IP Case Law Team” as the subject by October 31, 2016:

  • CV
  • A summary of the Bombay High Court’s judgment in People Interactive (India) Pvt. Ltd. Vivek Pahwa & Ors. A copy of the judgment is available here.

  • Brevity
  • Coverage of key issues
  • Clarity of language
  • Structure
  • Presentation style

Terms & Conditions

  • Once selected, the candidate will be on a probationary period for the first one month and we reserve the right to terminate the engagement if the candidate is found unfit during this period.
  • After the expiry of the probationary period, if a selected candidate at any time is found to not fulfill his/her obligations, we reserve the right to terminate the engagement.
