Hey Shamnaad…
Will miss Spicy IP terribly… to me (and am sure many others)its almost like air and water..and my home page at Home n office.. in one word.. am “addicted”!!!
Take Care and hope to see you guys back in action SOON!!!
Adios Amigo….
hi shammed,I feel sorry for your tough decision. whatever the reason, you should not be out of the IP Stream.it is very great loss to IP Community.
Break from IP!!! and that too indefinite.
Enjoyed your thought provoking posts and breaking news items.
You have been an inspiration to many including me to start blogging.
Hope you have a nice time off and be back soon.
I am sure this was a long-thought not-an-easy decision. I wish you have a good break.
Spicyip wont be the same without you, do return early!! All the best.
dear shamnad,
i dunno abt others, but your absence from spicyip will certainly be missed by me. i had started posting in spicyip only coz of u, as i was looking for impartial scholarly discussions/interactions on ip matters. at least in delhi, there is a ‘total'(yes i mean it) lack of ip practitioners (litigation) who r scholars, too, n with whom i cud have some intellectual satisfaction.
i had been commenting/posting at spicyip under the current pseudonym n was hoping that once my paper in jipr wud get published, u wud automatically come to know of my real identity from there. but unfortunately, the paper written in april,2009 is slated to be published in the september, 2009 issue, which has still not been published till today.
anyway, lets see, in your absence, how spicyip fares. also, i dunno whether i also will be contributing to it, as my primary purpose of posting at spicyip was to elicit responses from u only.
n lastly, i take this opportunity to wish u all the best for whatever u ll b doing during this inter-regnum.

Shamnad away from IP. Now thats something hard to digest. But as commented earlier, it would defintely have been a tough decision for you to make. All the very best for the way forward.
Hey Shamnaad………
We will wait ………
Spicy IP won’t be the same without you. Thanks for the unbiased comments and the insight into real key matters of IP. Please return soon and enjoy the break…….. Hope to c u soon.
Without Basheer, I feel it is not SPICY IP. It is only IP.
I updated my knowledge on IP especially in the area of Copy right and Trips issues only after going through your article. I really miss your articles, sharp comments and all. As you have mentioned, for both personal and professional reasons, here i feel, no one could compel you to come back.
I Wish you and miss you.

We are sure you have good reasons for this decision. SpicyIp and your readers will miss your contributions.
I read this post with great sadness. Your break from IP, I assume, will take you away from Duncan Bucknell’s great podcast conversations as well as from Spicy IP?
Whatever your reasons for creating such a hole in the IP world, I’m sure you have thought long and hard about it and have chosen the path you need to take right now. Please know you will be missed. Best wishes for whatever lies ahead.
Dear Basheer
Well It si break and I hope it is temp. not permanant.
I donot one thing is there any conncection between you and patent circle. If you remember they also took some like the same decision infact they were more one step ahead-to stop blogging . there is another story It would not happen and we also aware about the reason.
Any way I only make a wish you come back soon with soome breaking news……………………………….
Bye
SpicyIP wont be a complete family without you, Shamnad. I do understand your need for a break but please don’t use words like ‘indefinite’ and scare your poor readers!
I keep coming back to SpicyIP for your no-nonsense straight-to-the-hilt unbiased and extremely insightful posts. You absence will leave a huge void that your readers cannot help but feel sad about.
I wish you luck and happiness. Enjoy your break and I hope during your break, you realise that you cannot live without SpicyIP and come back soon to ‘tickle our IP sensitivities’ yourself!
God Bless You!
Hi Shamnad,
When i subscribed to this blog i did think that this blog would be that valuable and interesting. Whever i open this site, my eyes keep searching for ur posts first. Even though the other contributors are equally qualified, the way u analyse and write things are extremely great. Dont’ have words to express your work. Even though its a short break, its a great loss for IP related people for sure. Please be back as soon as possible and guide us through ur wonderful service. My whole-hearted good wishes for whatever u do till u come back.
Hi Shamnad,
I am very shocked to hear this news. Please be back soon and son disappoint us. May god bless u with all that u want.
Thanks very much to all of you,
This is a just a short break to take time out and introspect. I will of course continue to do some IP as part of my commitment to the NUJS IP Chair. And will continue to post on issues that I am deeply passionate about. But no future IP commitments for a while..
As you may have noticed, my team members have more than risen to the occasion by posting some great stuff in the last 2-3 days. And I am confident that they will take this space and discussion to far greater heights.
Hey Shamnad,
Will definitely miss you. Do enjoy the break and come back soon.
