  1. I do not think this time the attendees would be more than 8500 as projected. The number will be lesser. The tour would be too expensive. Besides because of the guest policy of INTA, there would be lesser people registering. While one registers himself/herself a guest, he/she has to pay the fee, but is not entitled to attend any thing and cannot enter the venue. For attending the opening and closing ceremonies, one has to pay extra for that. The question is what is the purpose of registering as a guest. There is no benefit of registering as a guest per se.

  2. More than 7,700 attendees have already registered for INTA’s 2014 Annual Meeting. With almost five weeks of advance registration remaining—not to mention onsite registration—we expect that number to grow. We already have more than 2,300 attendees registered from Asia-Pacific, an all-time high for INTA!

We encourage attendees to purchase tickets to the Welcome Reception and Grand Finale for their family and friends with them in Hong Kong who are not employed in the trademark industry. Almost 500 guests tickets to these events have already been sold.

These event tickets replace the Guest Registrations formerly offered by INTA. Those guest registrations were likewise intended for family and friends of Annual Meeting attendees who were not employed in the trademark industry and allowed access to the Welcome Reception, Grand Finale and certain limited areas of the convention center. However, many people abused guest registrations, using them for trademark professionals who did not want to pay the regular registration rate. This was unfair to the many people who followed policies and registered trademark professionals as regular attendees. Therefore, INTA has discontinued Guest registrations but replaced them with event tickets so that attendees may bring family and friends to the Welcome Reception and Grand Finale if they choose.
