SpicyIP is pleased to announce that the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) will be hosting the fourth edition of the Global Congress on Intellectual Property and the Public Interest at New Delhi, India. The event will be tentatively scheduled in the first two weeks of December, 2015. The exact dates will be announced once the WIPO releases its annual calendar and list of events to avoid clashing of events.
The Global Congress on Intellectual Property and the Public Interest was instituted in 2011 at Washington D.C. Since then three editions of the Global Congress have engaged national and international governmental entities, the private sector, civil society, and academia in providing perspectives and future scenarios for intellectual property, innovation and development. The five tracks at the Global Congress 2015 will be:
a) User Rights
b) Patents (including Access to Medicines, but wider in scope)
c) Enforcement
d) Traditional Knowledge
e) Openness
The track leaders for each event shall be announced soon. CIS seeks your wholehearted participation at the Global Congress. Interested participants are welcome to share ideas/proposals for workshops, presentations, side shows, etc with the CIS Global Congress Team. CIS also welcomes suggestions and queries about the Global Congress. Potential funders may share funding proposals for conferences/events with any member of the CIS Global Congress Team.
