As I mentioned yesterday, the application window for the SpicyIP Fellowship 2015-16 will open next week. To be considered, applicants will need to submit at least 3 posts within the 6 week period between December 8th, 2014 and January 16th, 2015. For those who are wondering whether this is something they want to try their hand at or not, here are some words from our current Fellows on their experience with the team.

“The SpicyIP Fellowship was the best thing that could have happened to me! Prior to applying for the Fellowship, I was sure that I enjoyed IPR law, though I never took to studying it seriously. Once I started writing for the Fellowship, there was no looking back & I discovered my love for writing on IP law issues. The best thing about SpicyIP is that it gives you immense freedom intellectually & encourages individual opinion & analysis. There is no hierarchy among the team members & everybody is treated as an equal. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Fellow.” – Devika Agarwal, SpicyIP Fellow 2014-15

“Applying for the SpicyIP fellowship was one of the best decisions I’ve made in the recent past. Firstly, the process of applying is itself fun because it involves scouring the internet for IP-related news and thinking about whether there can be an IP spin on current events. But ultimately, it has been great to be a SpicyIP Fellow because of the invaluable mentorship that the SpicyIP Team provides and the world of opportunities that the fellowship has opened for me. Moreover, the thrill of having your posts read, appreciated (and retweeted!) by IP experts and enthusiasts around the world is incomparable.”  – Spadika Jayaraj, SpicyIP Fellow 2014-15

My experience on the team has been nothing short of rewarding. The exposure to the information that the team collects, coupled with the interesting perspectives on various issues that are shared amongst team members is incredible. The opportunity to present your views to a very wide and distinguished readership and the joy of attempting to analyze some interesting and cutting edge topics in IP are all plus points. This fellowship is a must try for all IP enthusiasts. – Thomas J. Vallianeth, SpicyIP Fellow 2014-15
