Hear from our Fellows 2013-14!

spicyIP_logo_highres copyWe’d like to remind readers of our upcoming SpicyIP Fellowship application window. Applicants will need to send in at least 3 post submissions in the period between December 1st, 2013 and January 15th, 2014. For those of you who are wondering whether this is something you want to do or not, I thought it would be useful to ask our current fellows for a few words on their own experience so far. Here is what they had to say:

“Blogging at SpicyIP is a lot of fun!! It is quite unlike a grim moot court or a serious law review, but is still as much or more of learning! The SpicyIP team is extremely supportive, encouraging and enthusiastic which makes the initially daunting task of covering widely read IP developments enjoyable. The ‘SpicyIP Experience’ is not limited to learning lots of IP (which I undoubtedly did!) but extends to learning the importance of team work, cooperation and most importantly enjoying IP as a discipline.”  Aparajita Lath, SpicyIP Fellow 2013-14

“Quite rarely do you get a chance to work with a dynamic team of practicing lawyers and academicians at the top of their field. That prospect coupled with my interest in IPR was a reason good enough to compete for a fellowship, and it’s been one of the most fulfilling experiences at law school. As fellows, we were always guided and challenged, and I sincerely believe every IP enthusiast should give this a shot.
Because there is nothing like the thrill of your writing being read by an audience of the best legal professionals worldwide!” – Anubha Sinha, SpicyIP Fellow 2013-14

“Being a SpicyIP blogger has been an extremely rewarding experience. When I applied for the Fellowship last year, all I expected was to have a closer association with IP law, particularly the recent developments. But a year down, I can vouch that it has been a whole lot more than that! Writing for such a large audience, mentored by some of the best people in IP in the country really expands your thinking and writing style.  Besides learning a whole lot, having awesome fun, and getting small self-esteem boosts when someone appreciates your writing,  SpicyIP really helps in giving you better exposure than perhaps any other platform to the  IP arena in India.  I don’t think I have had a better feeling than when some super seniors I hardly knew recognized me because of SpicyIP. Honestly, as a student, I couldn’t ask for more!” – L. Gopika Murthy, SpicyIP Fellow 2013-14
